New Roof Installations in Wokingham

Full roof strip and re-roof, felt, battens and covering replaced and made weathertight.

What's included

  • Old covering stripped and disposed of
  • New felt, battens and covering fitted
  • Ridge, hip and verge detailing
  • Timber checked and replaced where needed
  • Site cleared and skip removed
  • Roof left ready for occupation

A new roof starts with stripping the old covering back to the rafters so we can see what's underneath. Any rotten timber or damaged sarking gets replaced before anything new goes on, so the roof isn't covering up a problem for someone to find in ten years. From there it's new felt, battens and covering, finished with proper ridge, hip and verge detailing so water runs off the way it's meant to.

How long it takes depends on the size and pitch of the roof and what we find once we're up there, but we'll give you a realistic timeframe before we start and keep you updated if anything changes. Scaffolding goes up first for safe access, and the site gets cleared and the skip taken away once the job's done.

Roof Repairs & Emergency Call-Outs in Wokingham

Leaks tracked to source and fixed, from a slipped tile to storm damage needing a quick temporary cover.

What's included

  • Leak tracing and diagnosis
  • Slipped, cracked or missing tiles replaced
  • Ridge and verge repointing
  • Flashing repairs around chimneys and valleys
  • Temporary sheeting for storm damage
  • Written report on what's needed

Most repair call-outs start the same way, working out where the water is actually getting in, which isn't always where it's coming through inside. Once we know the cause, whether it's a slipped tile, cracked mortar on a ridge or verge, or flashing that's come away, we fix it properly rather than patching over the top.

If it's urgent, storm damage or a tile that's come off leaving the roof exposed, we can get a temporary cover on to stop further water getting in until proper repairs can be done. For anything bigger than a straightforward fix, we'll explain what we've found and what it needs before any work goes ahead.

Flat Roofing in Wokingham

Felt, GRP and other flat roofing systems installed and repaired on extensions, garages and outbuildings.

What's included

  • Old flat roof covering stripped out
  • New covering laid with proper falls
  • Edge trims and upstands fitted
  • Repairs to blisters, splits and ponding
  • Suitable for extensions and garages
  • Guarantee details on request

Flat roofs fail in predictable ways, usually ponding water that's found a weak spot, or a covering that's simply reached the end of its life. When we replace one, we make sure there's a proper fall so water actually drains rather than sitting on the roof, which is what causes most of the problems in the first place.

For repairs, we'll have a look at what's actually gone wrong before recommending a full replacement. Sometimes a blister or split can be repaired without stripping the whole roof back, and we'll always tell you honestly which option makes more sense for the roof you've got.

Slate & Tile Roofing in Wokingham

Slate and tile roofs laid, repaired and re-ridged, matched to the existing roof where we're doing partial work.

What's included

  • Slate and tile roofs laid or re-laid
  • Dry ridge and dry verge systems fitted
  • Mortar repointing on ridges and verges
  • Individual slate and tile replacement
  • Matching materials on repair work
  • Roof checked for underlying timber issues

Slate and tile work covers everything from a full re-roof down to swapping out a handful of cracked or slipped tiles. Where we're doing partial repairs, we match the existing slate or tile as closely as we can so it doesn't stand out against the rest of the roof.

A lot of the work we do on tile roofs is around the ridge and verges, replacing old mortar that's started to crack and crumble with a proper dry ridge or dry verge system. It's a more durable fix than repointing with mortar again, and it's usually the first place a tile roof starts to show its age.

Leadwork & Chimney Repairs in Wokingham

Lead flashing around chimneys, valleys and abutments renewed, plus chimney repointing and stack repairs.

What's included

  • Lead flashing renewed around chimneys
  • Valley and abutment lead replaced
  • Chimney stack repointing
  • Chimney pot and flaunching repairs
  • Cracked or leaning stacks addressed
  • Leadwork checked for splits and lifting

Most leaks around a chimney come down to the lead flashing rather than the brickwork, either it's lifted, split, or was never dressed in properly to begin with. We renew the flashing where it's failed and make sure it's properly tucked into the brickwork so water can't get behind it.

Where the chimney itself needs work, cracked pointing, damaged flaunching around the pots, or a stack that's started to lean, we'll deal with that at the same time rather than leaving it for a separate job. It's usually more cost-effective to sort the lead and the stack together while the scaffolding's already up.

Fascias, Soffits & Guttering in Wokingham

Fascias, soffits and guttering replaced or repaired so water is carried away from the property properly.

What's included

  • Fascias and soffits replaced
  • Guttering renewed or repaired
  • Downpipes checked and reseated
  • Gutters cleared of moss and debris
  • Roofline checked for rot behind boards
  • Guttering realigned to fall correctly

Fascias and soffits take a lot of weather over the years, and once they start to rot or crack it's usually not long before water finds its way behind them. We replace what needs replacing and check the roof timbers behind for any damage that's crept in.

Guttering causes more damp problems than people realise when it's blocked, sagging, or simply not falling towards the downpipe properly. We sort the guttering at the same time as fascia and soffit work where it makes sense, so the whole roofline is dealt with in one visit rather than two.
